The Lions of Rakaia and Rakaia Sports Clubs are again running the Jackson Holmes Salmon Run and this year are excited to offer the addition of a ½ Marathon.

We have something for everyone, competitive and non-completive, seven different events, individual and team options. All events are staged around the splendour of the Rakaia River and its riverbed, and ensuring the race starts and finishes at the Rakaia Domain, to make it easier for those without support teams. The Salmon Run is being organised for the masses and includes competitive and non-competitive stages. Walk, bike, run and/or kayak – the choice is yours. It is all about participating and having fun. We are focusing on a good selection of awesome spot prizes and acknowledging the champions of all our categories. Another addition will be cash prizes for those that can beat the best times from previous events.

The Rakaia region is rich in agriculture and a paradise for running, walking and multisport events as well as outdoor recreationalists. Our beautiful braided Rakaia River is the perfect location for this event.
